SUMMARY:Presentation of the community of practice on the renaturation of cities\, NatUrbana Conecta
DESCRIPTION:We present NatUrbana Conecta\, a new community of practice on the renaturation of cities and support in the monitoring of indicators. This initiative arises with the aim of offering a space for meeting and learning about urban renaturation and river restoration that contributes to consolidating urban green infrastructure in the territory and advancing in the ecological transition of Spanish cities. NatUrbana Conecta has had the participation of a large part of the projects that are currently being carried out within the framework of the calls for aid coordinated by the Biodiversity Foundation to promote urban renaturation and river restoration. The presentation ceremony will be inaugurated by the Director General of Biodiversity\, Forests and Desertification of the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge\, María Jesús Rodríguez de Sancho.    \nThe presentation of NatUrbana Conecta can also be followed through the social networks of the Biodiversity Foundation.

SUMMARY:30th United Nations Climate Conference - COP30 Brazil
DESCRIPTION:The 30th United Nations Climate Conference is taking place from 10 to 21 November 2025 in Belém\, Brazil. This annual event will bring together world leaders\, the scientific sector\, non-governmental organizations and civil society to discuss priority actions to address climate change. COP30 will focus on the efforts needed to limit the global temperature rise to 1.5°C\, the presentation of new national action plans and progress on the financial commitments made at COP29.   \nAs in previous editions\, Spain will have a Pavilion that will host a wide variety of events on different topics\, which will be streamed through the Biodiversity Foundation’s social networks.

SUMMARY:Citizen science workshop in l'Estartit (Girona) of the LIFE A-MAR project
DESCRIPTION:On November 15\, a citizen science workshop will take place in l’Estartit (Girona) to train and raise awareness about the marine areas of the Natura 2000 Network in the Spanish Mediterranean. It is part of the development of a citizen science campaign that includes a total of 15 activities in the autonomous communities of Andalusia\, the Region of Murcia\, the Valencian Community\, Catalonia and the Balearic Islands.  \nThe Biodiversity Foundation of the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITECO)\, in coordination with the Directorate-General for Biodiversity\, Forests and Desertification and the autonomous communities involved\, is responsible for these actions within the framework of the European project LIFE A-MAR\, Knowing and loving the marine areas of the Natura 2000 Network to protect them\, of which she is a member. The project is coordinated by the Italian Federation of Parks and Nature Reserves (Federparchi) and is being developed in parallel in Italy and Spain.  It is supported by the LIFE Program of the European Union. \nThe citizen science workshops combine a theoretical part with practical experiences to train citizens in the observation\, collection and recording of data on marine biodiversity using digital tools and applications. All of them are free.  \nThe theoretical contents are aimed at raising awareness of the LIFE A-MAR Natura2000 project and the fundamentals of citizen science. The active part of the workshops include whale watching from the boat\, snorkeling and walking routes for flora and fauna observation. All this adapted to the particularities of each protected area.   \nTo attend the workshop in l’Estartit (Girona) it is necessary to register in advance. \nPROGRAM \n📌  L’Estartit. November 15:  \n– From 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.: Theoretical-practical training on marine citizen science. Sports area of the Club Nàutic de l’Estartit (Passeig Marítim s/n\, davant del’Oficina de Turisme).  \n– From 18:00 to 20:00: Flora and fauna route in the surroundings of l’Estartit. \n– Natura 2000 Network space visited: Montgri\, Iles Medas and Baix Ter (Girona) \nRegistration and more information \nCollaborators: Generalitat de Catalunya\, Montgrí Natural Park\, Medes Islands and Baix Ter\, Anthesis Lavola\, Naturalwalks.

DESCRIPTION:We promote the exchange of knowledge in NatUrbana Conecta\, the Community of Practice on the renaturation of cities and monitoring of indicators within the framework of the RTRP – funded by the European Union NextGenerationEU.  \nWe organized a new online session\, entitled “Renaturalization and Urban Strategy: Green Infrastructure Plans\, contributions to the city model and adaptation to climate change“\, which delves into the application of Urban Green Infrastructure Plans and renaturation projects in cities\, as well as their integration into the different strategic instruments.  such as urban plans and agendas\, mobility or climate adaptation strategies.  \nIt is structured in two thematic blocks: plans for the improvement of green and urban blue infrastructure and their application in the urban strategy of the city and renaturation and climate change.
