SUMMARY:5th webinar of the cycle "Nature and finance"
DESCRIPTION:We organized the fifth webinar of the “Nature and Finance” cycle\, promoted by the Spanish Business and Biodiversity Initiative (IEEB) and Spainsif (Spanish Forum for Sustainable Investment and Finance) and with the support of the Biodiversity Foundation of the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITECO) within the framework of the Recovery\, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR)\, funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU. \nThe combination of public and private financing will be essential to achieve the objectives of restoration and nature protection: €65 billion will have to be mobilised each year in Europe. At the global level\, in relation to the Global Biodiversity Framework\, this figure rises to 700\,000 million US dollars per year. \nThis fifth and final session of the cycle will address some of the key milestones that will set the agenda for financial action in favor of nature. It will also present the progress made in the implementation of the roadmap on nature credits published by the European Commission in 2025 and the financing talks foreseen in the Rio Conventions that will meet in 2026 and in which investment in nature will be presented as an effective solution\, cost-effective and durable to address deeply interconnected global challenges. \n
