{"id":97856310,"date":"2014-03-24T16:22:04","date_gmt":"2014-03-24T15:22:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fundacion-biodiversidad.es\/actualidad_home\/pygmy-sperm-whale-rescued-alive\/"},"modified":"2014-03-24T16:22:04","modified_gmt":"2014-03-24T15:22:04","slug":"pygmy-sperm-whale-rescued-alive","status":"publish","type":"actualidad_home","link":"https:\/\/fundacion-biodiversidad.es\/en\/actualidad_home\/pygmy-sperm-whale-rescued-alive\/","title":{"rendered":"Pygmy sperm whale rescued alive"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Specimens of the Kogia Breviceps, known as the pygmy sperm whale, are rarely found in Cantabrian waters, which is hardly seen on the surface, but on this occasion the residents of Castrill\u00f3n (Asturias) have participated in the rescue alive of one of these cetaceans on the beach of San Juan de Nieve.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->\n<\/p>\n<p>The Coordinator for the Study and Protection of Marine Species (CEPESMA) has indicated that the animal was stabilized at first with the collaboration of the Civil Guard and residents of the town to later move the cetacean by road to the rula of the marina of Gij\u00f3n where it was embarked on a boat of the Red Cross of the Sea to release it a mile and a half from the coast in a satisfactory way.<\/p>\n<p>In twelve years, only two specimens of the Kogia Breviceps have appeared dead on the Cantabrian coast, a short-headed cetacean that measures between 2.7 and 3.4 meters and weighs a maximum of 400 kilos.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":11,"featured_media":0,"template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false},"palabras_clave":[],"class_list":["post-97856310","actualidad_home","type-actualidad_home","status-publish","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.9 -
