{"id":97857123,"date":"2014-03-24T16:22:24","date_gmt":"2014-03-24T15:22:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fundacion-biodiversidad.es\/actualidad_home\/the-progress-of-the-results-of-the-orinoco-crocodile-conservation-and-management-program-is-presented\/"},"modified":"2014-03-24T16:22:24","modified_gmt":"2014-03-24T15:22:24","slug":"the-progress-of-the-results-of-the-orinoco-crocodile-conservation-and-management-program-is-presented","status":"publish","type":"actualidad_home","link":"https:\/\/fundacion-biodiversidad.es\/en\/actualidad_home\/the-progress-of-the-results-of-the-orinoco-crocodile-conservation-and-management-program-is-presented\/","title":{"rendered":"The progress of the results of the Orinoco Crocodile Conservation and Management Program is presented"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The director of the Biodiversity Foundation, Ana Leiva, will present \u2013 on Friday, October 8 \u2013 the progress of the results of the Program for the conservation and management of the Orinoco crocodile (Crocodylus intermedius) in the Eastern Plains of Colombia, carried out by the Chelonia Association and the Autonomous Regional Corporation Corporinoquia (Colombia), with the support of the Biodiversity Foundation.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The director of the Biodiversity Foundation, Ana Leiva, will present \u2013 on Friday, October 8 \u2013 the progress of the results of the Program for the conservation and management of the Orinoco crocodile (Crocodylus intermedius) in the Eastern Plains of Colombia, carried out by the Chelonia Association and the Autonomous Regional Corporation Corporinoquia (Colombia), with the support of the Biodiversity Foundation.<\/p>\n<p>The event, scheduled for 10:30 a.m., will be attended by the director of the National Museum of Natural Sciences, Esteban Manrique; the representative of the Fonds de Dotation pour la Biodiversit\u00e9, Antoine Cadi, and the President of Chelonia, Manuel Merch\u00e1n.<\/p>\n<p>Within the framework of this Program, which aims to preserve this critically endangered species (according to IUCN), population censuses are being carried out in the basins of the Meta and Casanare rivers, as well as a characterization of the habitat and a series of awareness-raising activities aimed at the plains population.<\/p>\n<p>The project is supported by the textile group Lacoste (France), Save Your Logo (France), the Palmarito Casanare Foundation (Colombia), the Forest Conservation and Development Foundation (CDF) and the Natural Protected Areas Corporation (ANP), among others.<\/p>\n<p>The presentation will take place in the Assembly Hall of the National Museum of Natural Sciences.
