{"id":97857244,"date":"2014-03-24T16:22:28","date_gmt":"2014-03-24T15:22:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fundacion-biodiversidad.es\/actualidad_home\/the-third-congress-of-organic-agriculture-was-held-in-madrid\/"},"modified":"2014-03-24T16:22:28","modified_gmt":"2014-03-24T15:22:28","slug":"the-third-congress-of-organic-agriculture-was-held-in-madrid","status":"publish","type":"actualidad_home","link":"https:\/\/fundacion-biodiversidad.es\/en\/actualidad_home\/the-third-congress-of-organic-agriculture-was-held-in-madrid\/","title":{"rendered":"The Third Congress of Organic Agriculture was held in Madrid"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The director of the Biodiversity Foundation, Ana Leiva, participated today, in Madrid, in the opening of the Third Congress of Organic Agriculture: &#8220;New green deal for sustainable food chains&#8221;, together with the general director of Industry and Food Markets of the MARM, Isabel Bombal.  <\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The director of the Biodiversity Foundation, Ana Leiva, participated today, in Madrid, in the opening of the Third Congress of Organic Agriculture: &#8220;New green deal for sustainable food chains&#8221;, together with the general director of Industry and Food Markets of the MARM, Isabel Bombal.<\/p>\n<p>The event was organised by IFOAM EU GROUP (Regional Group of the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements) and SEAE (Spanish Society of Organic Agriculture), with the support of the Biodiversity Foundation.<\/p>\n<p>Participants in the Congress analysed the capacity of the organic sector to contribute to sustainable development strategies and to strengthen the European food sector, strengthening its competitiveness and creating jobs.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>  &#8220;Organic farming represents a key axis and can be considered a clear exponent of the so-called &#8220;European Production Model&#8221;, since it brings together the three axes of sustainability: environmental, social and economic,&#8221; said Ana Leiva during the opening ceremony.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the report &#8220;Green Employment in a Sustainable Economy&#8221;, published by the Biodiversity Foundation and the OSE, has highlighted that organic agriculture and livestock are in fifth place among traditional green employment activities, representing 9.4% of the total.
