The director of the Biodiversity Foundation, Ana Leiva, together with the director of the Brown Bear Foundation, Guillermo Palomero, and the President of the Cantabrian Hunting Federation, Ignacio Valle, presented today in Santander the project “Hunting and Bear”. <\/p>\n

The initiative launched by the Brown Bear Foundation (FOP), with the support of the Biodiversity Foundation, includes a set of actions for the conservation of the brown bear, with the collaboration of the Cantabrian Hunting Federation and twelve hunting societies, which bring together more than 4,000 hunters and manage hunting reserves with the presence of specimens of this emblematic species.<\/p>\n
The aim is to promote a good scenario of collaboration with wild boar hunters in batida, which is the most widespread hunting modality among local hunters in the Cantabrian bear areas. Education, awareness-raising and participation actions aim to minimise conflicts over the preservation of endangered fauna and hunting activity. <\/p>\n
Among other measures, the project will promote an improvement of the habitat in the hunting reserves to promote compatibility between hunting activity and the conservation of the bear, as well as training and the implementation of information campaigns among the hunters. With the participation of hunters in the work of preserving the species, it will be possible to prevent the mutilation or accidental death of bears caused by illegal snares. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":11,"featured_media":0,"template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false},"palabras_clave":[],"class_list":["post-97857319","actualidad_home","type-actualidad_home","status-publish","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"\n
