{"id":97857476,"date":"2014-03-24T16:22:38","date_gmt":"2014-03-24T15:22:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fundacion-biodiversidad.es\/actualidad_home\/the-course-towards-the-governance-of-coastal-marine-areas-will-address-the-challenges-posed-by-the-conservation-and-sustainable-use-of-marine-resources-and-biodiversity\/"},"modified":"2014-03-24T16:22:38","modified_gmt":"2014-03-24T15:22:38","slug":"the-course-towards-the-governance-of-coastal-marine-areas-will-address-the-challenges-posed-by-the-conservation-and-sustainable-use-of-marine-resources-and-biodiversity","status":"publish","type":"actualidad_home","link":"https:\/\/fundacion-biodiversidad.es\/en\/actualidad_home\/the-course-towards-the-governance-of-coastal-marine-areas-will-address-the-challenges-posed-by-the-conservation-and-sustainable-use-of-marine-resources-and-biodiversity\/","title":{"rendered":"The course &#8220;Towards the governance of coastal marine areas&#8221; will address the challenges posed by the conservation and sustainable use of marine resources and biodiversity"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Secretary General of the Sea and Vice-President of the Board of Trustees of the Biodiversity Foundation, Juan Carlos Mart\u00edn Fragueiro, has participated in the inauguration of the course &#8220;Towards the governance of coastal marine areas&#8221;, which is being held in Palma de Mallorca from today until 17 July.  <\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>During this event, the Secretary General of the Sea was accompanied by the Minister of the Environment of the Government of the Balearic Islands, Mique \u00c0ngel Grimalt, the Minister of Territory of the Consell de Mallorca, Mar\u00eda Luisa Dub\u00f3n, and the Rector of the University of the Balearic Islands, Montserrat Casas.  <\/p>\n<p>  During his speech, Mart\u00edn Fragueiro pointed out that &#8220;correct governance is to ensure the participation of individuals, local authorities and regions in the decision-making processes that affect the public domain&#8221;. He also assured that it is the Administration that must arbitrate the balance between protection and progress on the coast and the marine environment.   <\/p>\n<p>  The course &#8220;Towards the governance of coastal marine areas&#8221;, organized by the Biodiversity Foundation, a public foundation of the Government of Spain, under the Ministry of Environment and Rural and Marine Affairs, will analyze the paradigm of governance as a meeting point for governments, civil society and companies to provide solutions that contribute to maintaining the functionality of coastal ecosystems.  <\/p>\n<p>  The seminar will be attended by experts, representatives of public administrations, social organisations and companies, who will discuss the current challenges posed by the conservation and sustainable use of the resources of the marine environment and biodiversity.  <br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":11,"featured_media":35345,"template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false},"palabras_clave":[],"class_list":["post-97857476","actualidad_home","type-actualidad_home","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.9 -
