{"id":97857900,"date":"2015-05-06T10:09:35","date_gmt":"2015-05-06T08:09:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fundacion-biodiversidad.es\/actualidad_home\/meeting-in-tunis-to-evaluate-the-ecosafimed-project\/"},"modified":"2015-05-06T10:09:35","modified_gmt":"2015-05-06T08:09:35","slug":"meeting-in-tunis-to-evaluate-the-ecosafimed-project","status":"publish","type":"actualidad_home","link":"https:\/\/fundacion-biodiversidad.es\/en\/actualidad_home\/meeting-in-tunis-to-evaluate-the-ecosafimed-project\/","title":{"rendered":"Meeting in Tunis to evaluate the ECOSAFIMED project"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The director of the Biodiversity Foundation of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and the Environment, Sonia Casta\u00f1eda, met with the representatives of Italy and Tunisia at the <strong>meeting of the steering committee of the <a href=\"http:\/\/ecosafimed.eu\/es\/home\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">ECOSAFIT project<\/a><\/strong>, a meeting in which the <a href=\"http:\/\/ecosafimed.eu\/es\/content\/objetivos-y-resultados\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>development of the objectives of the programme<\/strong><\/a> was analysed and in which the future steps to be taken were set. Tunisia is also currently hosting the project&#8217;s last oceanographic campaigns and sessions with fishermen are scheduled to be held in Mallorca throughout the month of May. <br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>  This project, coordinated by the Biodiversity Foundation, <strong>promotes sustainable artisanal fishing practices<\/strong> and encourages cross-border cooperation between countries on both shores of the Mediterranean, in order to address common challenges and achieve habitat conservation.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>  After 16 months since the launch of the project, this meeting has paid special attention to the analysis of the data collected during the <strong>six oceanographic campaigns and the more than 50 studies on board<\/strong>. In addition, the impact of artisanal fishing on benthic communities in the study areas has been evaluated, and they have discussed how to involve fishermen to improve their practices. <br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>  Among the final actions of this project, the members of the committee have agreed to organize a congress at the end of the year, as well as to make an informative video about the project and a technical publication where the results obtained are collected. Recommendations will also be drawn up and discussed with fishermen&#8217;s associations.<\/p>\n<p> The meeting, which was held in Tunis, was also attended by <a href=\"http:\/\/ecosafimed.eu\/es\/el-proyecto\/socios\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>representatives of the Institute of Marine Sciences of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), the National Institute of Marine Technology Sciences of Tunisia and the University of Genoa<\/strong><\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":11,"featured_media":35565,"template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false},"palabras_clave":[151,94,155,234],"class_list":["post-97857900","actualidad_home","type-actualidad_home","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","palabras_clave-ecosafimed","palabras_clave-enpi","palabras_clave-pesca-sostenible","palabras_clave-pesqueria-artesanal"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.9 -
