The Biodiversity Foundation of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and the Environment has participated in the seminar and technical session held in Barcelona<\/strong> where the situation and development of the ENPI-ECOSAFIMED project<\/strong><\/a> has been addressed, an initiative that aims to study the impacts derived from traditional fishing on the seabed <\/strong>and propose measures for its reduction and mitigation.
\n 
During the seminar, the operation of remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) in the funds of Italy, Tunisia and Spain was discussed. These vehicles carry out filming of the seabed and the analysis of their images, as well as their editing and processing, will also be the subject of the training of this workshop.
\n 
Likewise, a day has also been dedicated to publicize the situation and development of the ENPI-ECOSAFIT project<\/strong><\/a>. Among other issues, the financial situation of the project, the development of technical activities and their possible solutions as well as the agreements made, next steps and deadlines to be developed have been discussed.
\n 
The ENPI-ECOSAFIMED project was launched this year and has the participation of Italy and Tunisia<\/strong>. The aim of this initiative is to contribute to an integrated maritime policy in the Mediterranean by promoting sustainable fishing practices on benthic communities. It is also intended, with the results of the studies generated, to promote the exchange of information on good practices among interested parties in order to achieve the conservation of marine habitats.
\n 
The European ENPI Mediterranean Basin programme<\/strong><\/a> is a cross-border cooperation initiative that is part of the European Neighbourhood and Partnership Policy instrument (EIPV-ENPI). The aim of the programme is to promote cooperation between the regions on both shores of the Mediterranean in order to face common challenges and to make the most of their endogenous potential.
\n 
A total of 14 countries are beneficiaries of the programme<\/strong>, representing 76 territories and nearly 110 million inhabitants: Cyprus, Egypt, France, Greece, Israel, Italy, Jordan, Lebanon, Malta, Palestinian Authority, Portugal, Spain, Syria and Tunisia.
\n 
The funded projects deal with various topics related to the promotion of socioeconomic and territorial development, through support for innovation, and research; sustainable development and energy efficiency throughout the Mediterranean basin; the improvement of the conditions and modalities of movement of people, goods and capital or the promotion of dialogue between cultures and governance.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":11,"featured_media":35500,"template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false},"palabras_clave":[94,70,36,93,72],"class_list":["post-97857961","actualidad_home","type-actualidad_home","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","palabras_clave-enpi","palabras_clave-marino","palabras_clave-medio-ambiente","palabras_clave-pesca","palabras_clave-sostenible"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"\nMitigating the impact of traditional fishing gear on the marine environment -
