{"id":97858139,"date":"2016-08-29T10:17:04","date_gmt":"2016-08-29T08:17:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fundacion-biodiversidad.es\/actualidad_home\/proper-rabbit-management-as-a-measure-to-protect-protected-species\/"},"modified":"2016-08-29T10:17:04","modified_gmt":"2016-08-29T08:17:04","slug":"proper-rabbit-management-as-a-measure-to-protect-protected-species","status":"publish","type":"actualidad_home","link":"https:\/\/fundacion-biodiversidad.es\/en\/actualidad_home\/proper-rabbit-management-as-a-measure-to-protect-protected-species\/","title":{"rendered":"Proper rabbit management as a measure to protect protected species"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Developing the bases for<strong> proper management of rabbit populations in Spain is the objective of the project developed by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wwf.es\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">WWF<\/a><\/strong>, with the support of the Biodiversity Foundation of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.magrama.gob.es\/es\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ministry of Agriculture, Food and the Environment<\/a>. The initiative focuses on the management of rabbits, which are the<strong> main source of food for species such as the Iberian lynx or the imperial eagle, so the improvement of rabbit populations has a positive impact on these protected species.<\/strong> <\/p>\n<p>The main objective of the project is to improve the situation of rabbit populations by modernizing their management, reinforcing knowledge of the species and the measures applied to control it, taking into account the damage it can cause to agriculture and measures to prevent it.<\/p>\n<p>The collection of information carried out within the framework of the initiative has made it possible to establish the bases for correct rabbit management, which has been reflected in a guide<strong>of the National Strategy for the Management of the Mountain Rabbit<\/strong>, which sets out the main lines for correct management and control of the rabbit.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, within the project, a proposal for a protocol for monitoring rabbit populations and their diseases will be developed. Another of the expected results is a proposal of priority lines of management research, in order to reduce the impact of diseases on their populations. <\/p>\n<p>The initiative, which has not yet been completed, has increased the knowledge, awareness and involvement of key actors in rabbit management.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":11,"featured_media":35746,"template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false},"palabras_clave":[],"class_list":["post-97858139","actualidad_home","type-actualidad_home","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.9 -
