{"id":97858151,"date":"2016-08-29T08:29:06","date_gmt":"2016-08-29T06:29:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fundacion-biodiversidad.es\/actualidad_home\/new-feeding-points-to-increase-the-number-of-egyptian-vultures\/"},"modified":"2016-08-29T08:29:06","modified_gmt":"2016-08-29T06:29:06","slug":"new-feeding-points-to-increase-the-number-of-egyptian-vultures","status":"publish","type":"actualidad_home","link":"https:\/\/fundacion-biodiversidad.es\/en\/actualidad_home\/new-feeding-points-to-increase-the-number-of-egyptian-vultures\/","title":{"rendered":"New feeding points to increase the number of Egyptian vultures"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The community of Bardenas, in collaboration with the Association of Societies of Bardenas (ASOBAR), has built two new supplementary feeding points in the <strong>Bardenas Reales Natural Park and Biosphere Reserve<\/strong> with the aim of <strong>increasing the population of the Egyptian vulture in Navarre<\/strong>. The project has been one of the beneficiaries of the call for grants from the Biodiversity Foundation of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and the Environment and its purpose is<strong>to recover the number of specimens of this necrophagous bird that has been reduced<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p>Between March and September, months in which the Egyptian vulture visits the region, the stalls will be stocked with <strong>carrion from extensive sheep farming<\/strong>. These points will be maintained throughout the year since the Egyptian vulture is not the only species that can access this safe food. Birds such as the red kite, the black kite, the marsh harrier and other species that use the park in their migrations, such as the bearded vulture or the black vulture, can also take advantage of it.  <\/p>\n<p>Currently the park already has fixed observatories to study and photograph the birds that perch at the feeding points, which serves for their scientific study. In addition, the project has programmed different activities to <strong>raise awareness among both tourists and the inhabitants of the area about the protection<\/strong> that the Egyptian vulture requires. The most outstanding is a talk especially aimed at farmers that will promote the use of owl, owl and kestrel nest boxes on farms. Another activity will consist of training environmental authorities on the early detection of risks for the Egyptian vulture with the intention of preventing the population from decreasing again.   <br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":11,"featured_media":35730,"template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false},"palabras_clave":[],"class_list":["post-97858151","actualidad_home","type-actualidad_home","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.9 -
