The Secretary of State for the Environment, Pablo Saavedra, presented today at the Seville headquarters of the Biodiversity Foundation<\/a> <\/strong>the project La Ruta de las Aves<\/strong>, an initiative of the Aranzadi Science Society, which has the support of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and the Environment, through the Foundation itself.<\/p>\n

In the presentation, which was also attended by the secretary general of the Aranzadi Science Society, Juantxo Aguirre, the manager of the Do\u00f1ana Natural Area, Jos\u00e9 Juan Chans, and the director of the Biodiversity Foundation, Sonia Casta\u00f1eda, Saavedra stated that “it is absolutely necessary for governments to work together to protect, conserve and restore the habitats of migratory birds<\/strong>“.<\/a><\/p>\n

He explained that The Bird Route will allow the creation of an innovative nature product, an initiative that invites you to travel the migratory route of two birds, the greylag goose and the osprey, visiting sixteen wetlands where the birds stop along their migratory journey between northern Europe and Africa.<\/p>\n

In this sense, the Secretary of State stressed that thanks to this initiative it will be possible to get to know some of the most important natural spaces in Europe, enjoy the observation of their fauna, learn about their history, natural and cultural heritage, gastronomy or ethnography.<\/p>\n

The BirdFlyway <\/strong><\/a>is an initiative that invites anyone who wants to participate to travel the migratory route of two birds, the greylag goose and the osprey, visiting sixteen wetlands where the birds stop along their migratory journeys between northern Europe and Africa. It is an experience similar to the Camino de Santiago<\/strong>, which will allow travellers to visit and get to know some of the most important natural spaces in Europe, enjoy the observation of their fauna, learn about their history, natural and cultural heritage, gastronomy or ethnography. The visit to each of the stages will be a small adventure that will be recorded in a passport designed specifically for this project and that will require the fulfillment of a few simple challenges. The challenges have no other objective than to ensure that the traveller visits the tourist points of greatest interest at each stage. <\/p>\n
