The Biodiversity Foundation wants to celebrate World Oceans Day, which takes place today, June 8, and World Environment Day, which was commemorated last Tuesday, June 5, with an initiative full of meaning.

The Biodiversity Foundation wants to celebrate World Oceans Day<\/a>, which takes place today, June 8, and World Environment Day<\/a>, which was commemorated last Tuesday, June 5, with an initiative full of meaning.<\/p>\n

This year the two days have emphasised the need to put an end to the use of plastics <\/strong>and propose solutions for cleaner ecosystems and oceans. From the Biodiversity Foundation we want to do our bit to contribute to a world without plastic and that is why its entire team is going to start using stainless steel lunch boxes<\/strong>, leaving aside the traditional plastic lunch boxes to store food. <\/p>\n

Lunch boxes whose raw material has been purchased from a Spanish company and which have been manufactured entirely in Spain, with minimal waste production.<\/p>\n

Stainless steel is a material that can be continuously recycled<\/strong>, so its ecological advantages are clear. In addition, unlike other materials, it is safe and does not alter the organoleptic properties of food. It has good corrosion resistance and great durability. <\/p>\n

According to UN data, 8 million tons of plastic end up in our oceans every year, causing serious damage to wildlife, fisheries resources and tourism. <\/strong>One million seabirds and 100,000 marine mammals lose their lives every year due to plastic pollution of the oceans. On the occasion of the celebration of World Environment Day, this year the United Nations has insisted on the need to reject disposable plastic due to the serious damage it causes to natural ecosystems. <\/p>\n
