What better place than our headquarters to hold the first workshop of the Natural Capital Factor<\/strong>and regional platform of the Natural Capital Coalition promoted by Ecoacsa. This project, which has the support of the European Commission and is developed together with the Cambridge Conservation Initiative, seeks to incorporate biodiversity into natural capital assessments in Spanish companies and organizations.<\/strong> <\/p>\n

The day serves as a meeting point for companies and organizations that seek to maintain an activity that is compatible with the conservation of biodiversity.<\/strong> With more than 40 participants, the workshop has been structured around key challenges that must be addressed when the biodiversity variable is to be incorporated into natural capital accounting.<\/p>\n

Our director, Sonia Casta\u00f1eda, welcomed the attendees and Ignacio Torres, deputy director, presented the workshop and stressed that “any company that wants to improve its relationship with the environment must be able to properly identify and evaluate its impacts on biodiversity, in order to make the right decisions”.<\/p>\n

David Alvarez, executive director of Ecoacsa, introduced the concept of the natural capital protocol and Rodrigo Fern\u00e1ndez-Mellado, environmental consultant, and Fernando Rodriguez, professor of the Department of Applied Economics of the University of Salamanca, also participated in the conference.<\/p>\n

The Biodiversity Foundation has held the workshop at its new headquarters, located in Madrid’s Calle de las Pe\u00f1uelas, and has invited all the companies that make up the Spanish Business and Biodiversity Initiative<\/a> and entrepreneurs of the Emprendeverde Network<\/a> whose activities are linked to natural capital to participate in it.<\/p>\n
