The director general of the Spanish Office for Climate Change, Susana Magro, has pointed out that the development of the national carbon footprint system during this year will stimulate companies to promote measures to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions.<\/p>\n

This was pointed out by Magro during the technical conference “The calculation of the carbon footprint as a boost to competitiveness in the company”, within the framework of the International Energy and Environment Fair ‘Genera’, in which 345 companies from 22 countries participate.<\/p>\n
Likewise, the director general of the Spanish Office for Climate Change stressed that this is a pioneering initiative in Spain. This initiative will consist of three voluntary registrations: the first aimed at Spanish companies that wish to calculate their carbon footprint and register it officially, thus having a national seal that accredits it; a second registry for entities with forestry or forestry projects; and finally a third registry for those companies that seek to offset their carbon footprint through forest sinks. <\/p>\n
The objective of the project is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, stimulate companies to calculate their carbon footprint and establish plans for reduction or compensation, and promote energy efficiency systems. In the same way, it will encourage the implementation of carbon absorption projects in national territory. The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and the Environment will thus recognise companies for their efforts to reduce emissions, which will improve competitiveness by reducing energy consumption. <\/p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":11,"featured_media":0,"template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false},"palabras_clave":[],"class_list":["post-97862394","actualidad_home","type-actualidad_home","status-publish","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"\n
