The Fundaci\u00f3n Naturaleza y Hombre has continued with the project, ‘LIFE Club de fincas por la conservaci\u00f3n del oeste ib\u00e9rico’, for the care and improvement of the number of populations of western Iberian species. Within this plan, activities have focused on the lesser kestrel and prey species, such as the rabbit.
\n<\/p>\n

The Fundaci\u00f3n Naturaleza y Hombre (FNYH) has finalized the <\/a>LIFE Club de fincas por la conservaci\u00f3n del oeste ib\u00e9rico’ project. An initiative that has been supported by the Biodiversity Foundation of the Ministry for Ecological Transition in the framework of its 2017 call for grants. This project is the continuity of previous actions carried out to improve the conservation status and demography by surface of the main habitats and species of the western Iberian mesomediterranean and supramediterranean bioclimatic floors.<\/p>\n

The ‘LIFE Club de Fincas por la Conservaci\u00f3n del oeste ib\u00e9rico’ project has carried out numerous conservation actions, made possible thanks to the Custody Agreements, which allow access to the territories. Work has been carried out to improve the habitat of the Quercus dehesa and riparian forest, and ponds and wetlands have been constructed and restored. Species recovery actions have focused on the lesser kestrel and prey species. To this end, the construction of fences for rabbit breeding has been carried out; the release of fifteen kestrel chicks, more than five hundred rabbits and three hundred partridges; to favor the pasture and the creation of shelters for the rabbits, micro-seeding and weeding have been carried out in the habitat.<\/p>\n

In order to disseminate the importance of living in an exceptional natural environment such as the western Iberian Peninsula, activities were prepared. They have developed workshops for the elaboration of natural and artisanal products, and environmental education in schools; guided tours; publication of press releases in different media; an annual meeting of owners; a day of Awards for the best conservation initiative 2017; workshops and installation of information panels in the areas of the Natura 2000 Network spaces, among others.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":22405,"parent":0,"template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false},"financiaci_n":[],"lineas_actuacion_tematicas":[654],"class_list":["post-97852129","life","type-life","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","lineas_actuacion_tematicas-terrestrial-ecosystems"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"\nLIFE Club de fincas for the conservation of the western Iberian Peninsula -
