{"id":97860101,"date":"2022-12-20T16:51:33","date_gmt":"2022-12-20T15:51:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fundacion-biodiversidad.es\/notas_de_prensa_mite\/the-government-approves-the-biodiversity-and-science-strategy\/"},"modified":"2022-12-20T16:51:33","modified_gmt":"2022-12-20T15:51:33","slug":"the-government-approves-the-biodiversity-and-science-strategy","status":"publish","type":"notas_de_prensa_mite","link":"https:\/\/fundacion-biodiversidad.es\/en\/notas_de_prensa_mite\/the-government-approves-the-biodiversity-and-science-strategy\/","title":{"rendered":"The Government approves the Biodiversity and Science Strategy"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><strong>This strategy, promoted by the Ministries of Science and Innovation and Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge, aims to be an integrating tool that highlights the contribution of science to biodiversity conservation<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>It aims to be the link between national initiatives in biodiversity and natural heritage and those of science, technology and innovation, favouring the generation and transfer of knowledge and improving planning and management<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>December 20, 2022-<\/u><\/strong> The Council of Ministers today approved the Biodiversity and Science Strategy (2023-2027), promoted by the Ministries of Science and Innovation and for the Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge with the aim of being an integrating tool that highlights the contribution of science to biodiversity conservation, in such a way that it is the link between national initiatives in biodiversity and natural heritage and those of science,  Technology and innovation. To achieve modern biodiversity management, it is necessary to incorporate all available scientific knowledge and information into decision-making processes, encouraging interactions between the worlds of science and politics on issues relevant to the conservation and restoration of biodiversity and ecosystem services. The strategy is aimed at organising, within the framework and as an application of the Spanish Strategy and the Spanish Plan for Science, Technology and Innovation (EECTI and PECTI), a system that favours the generation and transfer of knowledge on biodiversity and ecosystem services. This system is designed to be coordinated and integrative, but also inclusive and effective, to meet the needs of biodiversity planning and management, thus contributing to its protection, conservation, restoration, and economic and social value. To meet these challenges in the coming years, six lines of action and a series of key actions are included to be developed by the general administration and different bodies of the state public sector. Specifically, the lines of action are aimed at improving the identification of scientific needs for the monitoring and management of biodiversity, promoting coordination mechanisms for the generation of knowledge, involving society, promoting Spanish science in the international context, communicating the<br \/>\nstrategy and transferring scientific knowledge. The Biodiversity and Science Strategy is included in the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan. For its preparation, the Biodiversity Foundation of the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge has carried out an international diagnosis, has organised three participatory workshops with administrations, scientific entities and civil society and has made the text available to the public for comments.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":11,"featured_media":0,"template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false},"class_list":["post-97860101","notas_de_prensa_mite","type-notas_de_prensa_mite","status-publish","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.9 -
