The project will serve as a starting point to assess the current situation and the effectiveness of the measures implemented to prevent the loss of this type of contaminants in the environment.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The MEDPELLETS project will provide relevant information to understand the status, dynamics and impact of plastic pellet emissions in the Western Mediterranean. <strong><em>Pellets<\/em> and other microplastics are a key indicator of the good environmental status of the oceans<\/strong> recognised by the European Union&#8217;s Marine Strategy Framework Directive and specifically in the D10. <strong><em>Pellets <\/em>are the largest source of primary microplastics to the environment<\/strong> and accumulate toxins that enter the food chain, affecting the fishing sector.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.programapleamar.es\/proyectos\/medpellets-estado-y-dinamicas-de-contaminacion-por-pellets-en-el-mediterraneo-occidental\">See the project<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":43712,"parent":0,"template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false},"financiaci_n":[652],"lineas_actuacion_tematicas":[655],"class_list":["post-47371","programa_pleamar","type-programa_pleamar","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","financiaci_n-fondo-europeo-maritimo-de-pesca-en","lineas_actuacion_tematicas-marine-ecosystems"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.9 -
