To this end, shipments will be made on boats of the different fishing modalities, incorporating the data of the IEO&#8217;s MEDIT Campaign. With the combination of the information from the aforementioned sources, possible laying areas, concentration of breeding and juvenile chondrichthyans will be located and the study area will be categorized according to the highest probability of capture of these species, the gear that catches them the most and their preferred habitats. As a result, essential information will be obtained to subsequently be able to develop management tools for these species in SCIs, SACs and ISRA areas aimed at protecting them, especially those considered critically endangered, through management plans. This project has a participatory and collaborative approach, involving the professional fishing sector in decision-making and awareness of the importance of species conservation. In line with the above, a protocol for the release of by-catches of vulnerable chondrichthyan species will be developed.
