MARAVES emphasizes the integration of the professional and recreational fishing sector for the good management of the marine environment in general, and birds in particular, placing the emphasis on the Natura 2000 Network of the Spanish Mediterranean. The project thus aims to promote the collection of information by the fishing sector, in addition to advancing in the development of mitigation measures. It also seeks to explore and minimize the impact of the accidental capture of live birds. It also aims to support administrations in the development of the national plan on by-catch and the fulfilment of their international commitments.
