\n Description<\/strong>\n <\/p>\n

The ACUIECO project aims to move towards more sustainable aquaculture in the marine area of the R\u00edas Baixas in Galicia. To this end, a diagnosis of the mussel production process will be developed, focusing on the materials used and their characteristics in the phases of obtaining seed, stringing, splitting and harvesting. Likewise, the points of loss of materials in the process and the existing needs will be located to make it more sustainable within the framework of a circular economy system. <\/p>\n

Based on the data obtained, a baseline report will be drawn up on the sustainability of the production process, in which the needs detected and the options for change to make the process more sustainable will be defined. In order to test these options, pilot tests of the effectiveness of these proposed measures will then be carried out with producers in the area of the project, in the R\u00eda de Arousa \u2013 reduction of toothpick loss, definition of the useful life of ropes and other materials used in the farming process (harvesting bags and\/or mussel reparking, etc.)\u2026-. With the results obtained, a report of corrective measures (SWOT analysis) will be prepared for the sustainability of the production process and future actions. <\/p>\n

Finally, a series of informative videos on the role of women in the sector is contemplated, as well as aspects related to the sustainability of mussel farming and the application of good practices.<\/p>\n
