These measures contemplated the incorporation of structural variations in fishing gear, in the shape and duration of the draught, as well as the use of biodegradable materials. In addition, scientists and fishermen have agreed on a methodology to increase the survival of discards on board vessels.  <\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Experimental fishing days were held in order to test and modulate the effectiveness of these measures and the extraction of lost or abandoned fishing gear has continued with the fishermen, optimizing the measures established in the first phase of MITICAP.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Finally, an extension has been made to the characterization of the fishing grounds of the artisanal fleet of Port de la Selva and Cadaqu\u00e9s, executing an oceanographic campaign with an underwater vehicle operated by remote control (ROV). Artisanal fishers have received specific training on the handling of the ROV. <\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">In the first phase of the MITICAP project, actions were carried out to characterise the main artisanal fishing grounds in the marine area of Cap de Creus in order to subsequently test innovative measures \u2013 variations in the draft area and in the use of gear, as well as the use of a safe extraction technique for lost or abandoned fishing gear \u2013 aimed at mitigating the impact of this activity.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.programapleamar.es\/proyectos\/miticap-ii-implementacion-de-medidas-innovadoras-de-cooperacion-entre-pescadores-y\">See the project<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":22405,"parent":0,"template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false},"financiaci_n":[652],"lineas_actuacion_tematicas":[655],"class_list":["post-97861640","programa_pleamar","type-programa_pleamar","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","financiaci_n-fondo-europeo-maritimo-de-pesca-en","lineas_actuacion_tematicas-marine-ecosystems"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.9 -
