The marine area, located in the southeast of the Iberian Peninsula, on the coast of the Region of Murcia (between \u00c1guilas and Cabo de Palos), has a great diversity of species, habitats and communities. The studies carried out in the area point to an ecosystem qualification of high ecological value. For this reason, this coastal strip has been acquiring different protection figures in recent years. Despite its importance, there is a significant gap and\/or dispersion of ecological, environmental and socio-economic information, which prevents the assessment of the conservation status of habitats and species of community interest and their real interaction with socio-economic activities. <\/p>\n

The CAMONMAR2 project proposes the improvement of the knowledge of habitats of special fishing and environmental interest, for the application of an integrated zoning and management model in the Area of Cabo Ti\u00f1oso and Underwater Valleys of the Mazarr\u00f3n Escarpment (ACTVSEM). To this end, the large volume of available public spatial information, previously underused, has been analysed to quantify the different pressures and the positive and negative impacts in the area. The distribution and behaviour patterns of certain threatened species have been determined, as well as the pressures and impacts generated by fishing and other human activities in the area. <\/p>\n

The project has also fostered information, awareness and cooperation, involving socio-economic sectors and sea users.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
