To this end, training and awareness-raising actions have been developed aimed at the different actors involved in the reserves: fishing sector, recreational divers, researchers and information and maintenance centres. <\/p>\n<p class=\"rtejustify\" style=\"text-align: justify\">PESCARES III has promoted the active participation of all sectors and agents involved to protect and conserve fishing and natural resources in the marine reserves of Isla de Tabarca, La Restinga-Mar de las Calmas, Isla de la Palma and Isla Graciosa and the Islets of the north of Lanzarote. The aim was to establish new standards of governance and apply those already defined in the previous phases, in order to improve the management of marine reserves and value their social benefit and the synergies between artisanal fishing, recreational diving and the scientific sector. The project has also contemplated the fight against poaching, as well as maintaining and monitoring the reserves and protected areas where action has been previously taken.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"rtejustify\" style=\"text-align: justify\">The results in the previous phases of the PESCARES project allowed the procedures, protocols and methodology followed to be strengthened.
