The project has been developed on the island of S\u00e1lvora, belonging to the Atlantic Islands of Galicia Maritime-Terrestrial National Park, an island with a great wealth of habitats and species that strengthens the ecosystem itself and from which the surrounding socio-economic sectors benefit. The presence of waste on the seabed and beaches generates an ecosystem and socio-economic imbalance that needs to be solved. For this reason, with the aim of minimising and preventing the loss of biodiversity, action has been taken in one of these enclaves of the park. <\/p>\n

The sustainability of the project has involved integrating the conservation of biodiversity and natural resources in the local population, seeking the greatest possible participation, especially from the fishing sector individually or through the FLAGs. Work has also been done with researchers from the three Galician universities, research centres, third sector entities, vocational training centres, volunteers, social integration companies, associations, etc. <\/p>\n

Actions have been carried out such as the creation and transmission of knowledge (scientific working group), cleaning of seabeds and beaches, as well as dissemination and communication, integrating the horizontal principles of equality and sustainability. In order to assess the correct implementation of the project, the actions involved the presentation of objectively verifiable results. To achieve the specific objectives, work has also been done with indicators of compliance with them. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
