\n Description<\/strong>\n <\/p>\n

SILENCIO was created with the aim of applying innovative solutions to the fishing sector to reduce its impact on the environment: noise pollution and carbon footprint. The project will expand existing knowledge on marine noise by characterising natural and anthropogenic sources in areas with high extractive activity, bringing this information closer to all beneficiaries. <\/p>\n

At the same time, as a novel alternative, the incorporation of electric propulsion in small fishing vessels is proposed, identifying potential use cases and testing their feasibility. The evaluation of the potential impact that this innovative solution would have – in terms of reduction of acoustic impact and CO2 emission – and the transfer of tools developed will allow the benefits of the project to be extended to other geographical areas. The collaboration of the fishing sector and the Marine Observatories will be key to a successful achievement of the objectives, improving social dialogue. <\/p>\n
