LanderPick System Expansion"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\n            <strong>Description<\/strong>\n          <\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The LanderPick 3 (LP3) project is the continuation of the <a href=\"https:\/\/programapleamar.es\/proyectos\/landerpick-desarrollo-de-un-sistema-remoto-de-largado-y-recogida-de-observatorios\">LanderPick 1<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/programapleamar.es\/proyectos\/landerpick-2-una-flotilla-de-landers-oceanograficos-de-bajo-coste-al-servicio-de-la\">LanderPick 2<\/a> projects, following their development (LP1) and the first series of pilot projects (LP2). The initial objective of the project, the construction and feasibility testing of the prototype vehicle, has been a success, as shown in this <a href=\"https:\/\/m.youtube.com\/watch?v=fCteTEEm_iw\">video<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">In this third phase, it is intended to <strong>advance in the prototype with a second improved version<\/strong>, as well as <strong>to complete the work in the SAC of El Cachucho <\/strong>initiated in LP2, in addition to expanding the sampling system to other deep areas of the Intemares project -the particular case of the SCI of the Mud Volcanoes of the Gulf of C\u00e1diz will be executed within the term of the project-. Finally, it is intended <strong>to develop a plan for monitoring environmental conditions in other national deep areas of the Natura 2000\/Intemares Network<\/strong>, based on flotillas of landers, involving research and management personnel from different regions and disciplines. <\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The LP2 project proposed two pilot projects, (1) the deployment and collection of a fleet of landers with a low instrumental load for a short-medium term experience in the Gaviera Canyon (Avil\u00e9s Cannon System, LIC-ESZZ12003) in April 2021 -collected in August of the same year- and (2) the deployment of a fleet of more instrumented landers for a long-term experience in the El Cachucho bank (ZEC-ES90ATL01) in December of 2021, with its collection scheduled for spring 2022.
