Innovative and inclusive measures for the recovery and conservation of benthic communities in the Mediterranean, Atlantic and Cantabrian Sea."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Reducing the impacts of fishing on Vulnerable Marine Ecosystems (VMEs) has become a priority, especially following the recommendations issued by the UN and FAO. These ecosystems, dominated by corals, <em>Posidonia oceanica<\/em> and laminaria forests, provide shelter, food and breeding grounds for many commercial species. However, human actions threaten their survival, reducing the abundance of associated fishing species, which makes it necessary to urgently implement measures to promote their preservation.  <\/p>\n<p>The CABALGAII project is an extension and strengthening of the <strong>CABALGA<\/strong> project, aimed at mitigating the negative impacts on VMEs through the active restoration of gorgonians, <em>Posidonia oceanica<\/em> and laminaria forests. It also promotes a more sustainable use of these ecosystems and associated fishing practices, with the aim of guaranteeing the continuity of the essential ecosystem services that these habitats offer. <\/p>\n<p><strong>INTEMARES complementary project.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The following collaborating entities act: Port de la Selva Fishermen&#8217;s Association, Cap de Creus Natural Park, Atlantic Islands Maritime-Terrestrial National Park, Federation of Fishermen&#8217;s Guild of the Principality of Asturias, Galician Federation of Fishermen&#8217;s Guilds and Valencian Federation of Fishermen&#8217;s Guilds.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":22405,"parent":0,"template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false},"financiaci_n":[680],"lineas_actuacion_tematicas":[655],"class_list":["post-97875104","programa_pleamar","type-programa_pleamar","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","financiaci_n-european-maritime-fisheries-and-aquaculture-fund","lineas_actuacion_tematicas-marine-ecosystems"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.5 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/product\/yoast-seo-wordpress\/ -->\n<title>RIDE II.
