Study of the effectiveness of lighting devices in reducing elasmobranch bycatch in artisanal gillnet fisheries in the Canary Islands."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The ILUMINA project is aimed at improving the sustainability and selectivity of fishing gear by incorporating luminous devices (LED lights) in the cazonal, with the aim of reducing the accidental capture of elasmobranchs and other sensitive species without significantly affecting the target species.<\/p>\n<p>The initiative combines applied scientific research and direct collaboration with the fishing sector, developing tests in real fishing conditions to evaluate the effectiveness of this technological innovation.
