The project proposes to lay the technical, economic and organisational foundations for the creation and implementation of a specific national EPR system for the waste stream of fishing gear and gear, defined according to Law 7\/2022 as any article or component of fishing equipment (professional and recreational) and aquaculture, ensuring the transition to a circular economy model led by producers, through the design of a structured roadmap, pilot actions and technical studies. The aim is to develop a sustainable and replicable management model in line with the principles of the circular economy. <\/p>\n

The initiative contemplates the active involvement of the fishing sector through consultations and tests in different marine demarcations, as well as an analysis of the future viability of the proposed system. In addition, a comprehensive communication and results transfer strategy is included to ensure their dissemination among the agents involved. <\/p>\n

The initiative is part of line g) of axis 3 of waste of the 2025 call of the Pleamar Program, contributing to the prevention and collection of marine litter and the recovery of fishing waste.<\/p>\n
