REDThe design of fishing nets and gear with a focus on Sustainability to reduce their impact on SEAS and oceans."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The project introduces an innovative perspective in the field of sustainable fishing through the eco-design of nets and gear, integrating criteria of recyclability, efficiency, use of sustainable materials and current technologies, among others. All these aspects are addressed in an activity specifically aimed at eco-design. In this activity, the use cases and redesign objectives will be defined, taking into account the previously mentioned criteria. In addition, redesign options will be generated and, finally, an evaluation will be carried out according to the ecodesign matrix. To carry out this activity, the nets and\/or gear with the greatest potential to be eco-designed will be identified beforehand.    <\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, in order to give validity and consistency to the work carried out with respect to the selection of nets and rigging and their eco-design, the initiative contemplates the development of prototypes, a key phase of innovation in the project, which allows experimenting, validating and improving sustainable solutions, through the materialization of ideas and technical concepts in concrete solutions. Prototype manufacturing also allows for the application of eco-design principles and life-cycle analysis from early stages, helping to ensure that redesigned nets and rigging are sustainable from manufacture to end-of-life. <\/p>\n<p>To carry out this activity, plans will be drawn up, prototypes will be developed and functionality tests will be carried out.
