RURAL LABSCAPE will enhance multifunctionality, biodiversity and forest bioeconomy in the framework of a novel living laboratory application. A demonstrative living laboratory will be established on a landscape scale, considering the characteristic Mediterranean mosaic, in a model area in terms of rural depopulation, conservation of protected areas and a high risk of forest fires. This living laboratory will design, implement, evaluate and disseminate actions for the conservation and promotion of the biological and functional diversity of the forest landscape, as well as strategies for the exploitation and diversification of forest uses, and will link its activity to an ambitious local training program aimed at social and environmental sustainability in the medium and long term.
