The project aims to promote a process for the design and creation of Marine Reserves of Fishing Interest in each of the artisanal communities that make up the Transnational Network of Fishing Communities for Sustainable Development (RECOPADES), as a way of guaranteeing their fishing resources and improving the biodiversity of their marine environment.<\/p>\n

The project aims to promote a process for the design and creation of Marine Reserves of Fishing Interest in each of the artisanal communities that make up the Transnational Network of Fishing Communities for Sustainable Development (RECOPADES), as a way of guaranteeing their fishing resources and improving the biodiversity of their marine environment.<\/p>\n
This objective is achieved through the transfer of knowledge and methodologies successfully tested in the marine reserves of the R\u00eda de Cedeira and Os Mi\u00f1arzos, in the Galician town of Lira, adapting their implementation to the biotope and biodiversity existing in each geographical area.<\/p>\n
The creation of these marine reserves of fishing interest, promoted and managed in a participatory way by the RECOPA communities themselves, aims to contribute to the improvement of the living conditions of its members, with the aim of serving as a demonstrative example for other fishing communities in Europe, Latin America and the rest of the world.<\/p>\n
