{"id":97860436,"date":"2014-03-24T12:26:38","date_gmt":"2014-03-24T11:26:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fundacion-biodiversidad.es\/proyectos_ficha\/recovering-the-eel-development-of-scientific-technical-tools-for-the-implementation-of-management-plans-in-european-basins\/"},"modified":"2014-03-24T12:26:38","modified_gmt":"2014-03-24T11:26:38","slug":"recovering-the-eel-development-of-scientific-technical-tools-for-the-implementation-of-management-plans-in-european-basins","status":"publish","type":"proyectos_ficha","link":"https:\/\/fundacion-biodiversidad.es\/en\/proyectos_ficha\/recovering-the-eel-development-of-scientific-technical-tools-for-the-implementation-of-management-plans-in-european-basins\/","title":{"rendered":"Recovering the eel: development of scientific-technical tools for the implementation of management plans in European basins"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span>The aim of the project is to develop and apply tools aimed at the implementation of the European eel (<\/span><em>Anguilla anguilla<\/em><span>)<\/span> recovery plans.<\/p>\n<p>          <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The aim of the project is to develop and apply tools aimed at the implementation of the European eel (<em>Anguilla anguilla<\/em>) recovery plans.<\/p>\n<p>More specifically, it is intended to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To estimate the eel biomass in the Oria estuary.<\/li>\n<li>Determine the impacts it suffers and make a proposal to manage the fishery in a sustainable way.<\/li>\n<li>To find a model that allows calculating the escape of silver eel from the basins of northern Spain.<\/li>\n<li>To estimate the mortality caused by hydroelectric power plants in the eel population of the Oria River basin.<\/li>\n<li>Propose corrective measures to reduce their impact.<\/li>\n<li>To test different reforestation formulas in the Oria and Urumea basins, which serve as a basis for designing a long-term reintroduction programme and calculating the wetland area of the Oria.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The actions planned for this are:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Experimental eel fishing and upward migration sampling.<\/li>\n<li>Review of the existing models for the calculation of silver eel leakage, selection of the most suitable for the Oria basin and making the necessary adaptations.<\/li>\n<li>Bibliographic review on the different types of turbines in the Oria and characterization of hydroelectric power plants.<\/li>\n<li>Preparation of tagging tests on eels, tagging and release of angles, carrying out monitoring electric fishing and analysis of the results.<\/li>\n<li>Bibliographic review for the calculation of the wetland area of the Oria.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"author":11,"featured_media":22405,"template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false},"financiaci_n":[650],"lineas_actuacion_tematicas":[654],"class_list":["post-97860436","proyectos_ficha","type-proyectos_ficha","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","financiaci_n-fundacion-biodiversidad-en","lineas_actuacion_tematicas-terrestrial-ecosystems"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.9 -
