Phase II"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n            <span>The initiative aims to preserve and improve the biodiversity of the 132,878 hectares of the Natura 2000 Network, Campo de Azaba, Campo de Arga\u00f1\u00e1n and Malcata areas.<\/span>\n          <\/p>\n<p>          <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The initiative aims to preserve and improve the biodiversity of the 132,878 hectares of the Natura 2000 Network, Campo de Azaba, Campo de Arga\u00f1\u00e1n and Malcata areas.<\/p>\n<div>\n            <span>The improvement is planned through intervention in a reserve area of 522 hectares, located in the centre of the transnational area, where an active integrated management is proposed in favour of the species with greater dispersal efficiency, acting as a supplier of biodiversity to the rest of the large Natura 2000 Network area.<\/span>\n          <\/div>\n<p>This initiative represents the second phase of the LIFE project of the same name, approved by the European Commission, with a total duration of 42 months, whose general objective is to improve the general state of biodiversity of a territory of about 132,600 hectares, whose main ecosystem is the open Mediterranean forest for livestock use.<\/p>\n<p>The specific objectives of this project are:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Improvement of the conservation status and increase in population levels of five species of birds in Annex I of the Birds Directive (<em>Aegypius monachus<\/em>, <em>Ciconia nigra<\/em>, <em>Aquila adalberti<\/em>, <em>Aquila chrysaetos <\/em>and <em>Bubo bubo<\/em>) and two species of insects in Annex II of the Habitats Directive (<em>Cerambix cerdo<\/em>, <em>Euphydrias aurinia<\/em>).<\/li>\n<li>Increase in the area and improvement of the conservation status of seven habitats included in Annex I of the Habitats Directive.<\/li>\n<li>Development of biodiversity assessment indicators, habitat quality indices and protocols for sustainable habitat management of evergreen pastures of Quercus sp.<\/li>\n<li>Increasing the appreciation of the natural environment and Mediterranean open ecosystems by society as a whole<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"author":11,"featured_media":22405,"template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false},"financiaci_n":[650],"lineas_actuacion_tematicas":[654],"class_list":["post-97860571","proyectos_ficha","type-proyectos_ficha","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","financiaci_n-fundacion-biodiversidad-en","lineas_actuacion_tematicas-terrestrial-ecosystems"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.9 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/product\/yoast-seo-wordpress\/ -->\n<title>Conservation of biodiversity in western Iberia.
