\n The initiative aims to contribute to the improvement of river ecosystems and the sustainable management of salmonid populations.<\/span>\n <\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The initiative aims to contribute to the improvement of river ecosystems and the sustainable management of salmonid populations.<\/p>\n

\n More specifically, the project focuses on the sustainable management of Atlantic salmon in the rivers at the southern end of their range.<\/span>\n <\/div>\n

The planned actions are as follows:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Carrying out a census of Atlantic salmon broodstock.<\/li>\n
  2. Restocking in the Nal\u00f3n-Narcea basin with salmon and trout fingerlings.<\/li>\n
  3. Restocking in the Nal\u00f3n-Narcea basin with embryonated eggs.<\/li>\n
  4. Inventory and mapping of spawning areas in the Nal\u00f3n-Narcea basin using Geographic Information System (GIS) techniques.<\/li>\n
  5. Cleaning and conditioning of river banks in the basins of the Nal\u00f3n-Narcea, Sar and rivers of Cantabria through volunteering.<\/li>\n
  6. Introductory courses to fishing and advanced fishing techniques to be developed in fishing schools.<\/li>\n
  7. Fly assembly courses to be developed in fishing schools.<\/li>\n
  8. Publication edition: magazine “El pescador”.<\/li>\n
  9. Environmental education talks in schools.<\/li>\n
  10. Talks, conferences, presentations at conferences, fairs, events related to nature and fishing.<\/li>\n
  11.
