The Expertal project seeks to establish the ecological bases that regulate the development of plant communities, specifically on the slopes of roads and motorways according to the different environmental conditions that occur in the Iberian Peninsula.

The slopes of the Spanish road network represent an area equivalent to about 5000 km2, that is, ten times the area of the Do\u00f1ana National Park. Although they constitute the daily stage of millions of people, little is known about the natural processes that take place in them. <\/p>\n

This study will be the basis for the development of landscape restoration and maintenance techniques that are more efficient in environmental and economic terms.
