Population growth will be achieved through the breeding of individuals in captivity and through specimens captured annually to increase genetic variability. <\/p>\n<p>Genetic monitoring of the specimens is carried out to ensure that the hares belong to the Iberian population of European hare, thus excluding non-Iberian European hare (Lepus europaeus) specimens and hybrids of European hare and Iberian hare (Lepus granatensis).
