Spain is the country with the greatest diversity of species in Europe. Companies benefit from the variety of ecosystems, species and genetic diversity, both at the level of extraction of raw materials and production, and at the level of distribution and marketing of products; In this sense, it is necessary for business policies to set a new model that values biodiversity conservation as an investment or as an asset and not as an expense. <\/p>\n

The recent presentation of the Catalogue of Good Business Practices in Biodiversity Management prepared by the Club for Excellence in Sustainability has set a very important precedent: the high level of concern of companies, including SMEs, and public sector institutions for this matter, as well as the wide reception by society and the media.<\/p>\n

The main objective of this Observatory will be to identify good practices in biodiversity throughout the value chain, its measurement and promotion policies in order to propose a series of recommendations that bring together concrete proposals for action and improvement, on a cross-cutting basis, to the Spanish business fabric and, paying special attention to key sectors.<\/p>\n

1. Give visibility to corporate responsibility policies that integrate biodiversity as a strategic area.
2. Generate debate around biodiversity so that companies place it as a priority and strategic issue on their agendas.
3.
