Today, the causes that led to their disappearance or prevented recolonization are largely absent. <\/p>\n<p>The project to reintroduce the black vulture aims to recover this species in an area where it is historically present. The process of natural recolonisation is accelerated thanks to the strategic geographical location of Boumort, in the Pyrenees. This area straddles the populations of southwestern Iberia and those of central and southern France.
