{"id":97861019,"date":"2018-03-15T16:33:08","date_gmt":"2018-03-15T15:33:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fundacion-biodiversidad.es\/proyectos_ficha\/application-of-spatial-planning-tools-for-a-gradual-adaptation-of-the-natura-2000-network\/"},"modified":"2018-03-15T16:33:08","modified_gmt":"2018-03-15T15:33:08","slug":"application-of-spatial-planning-tools-for-a-gradual-adaptation-of-the-natura-2000-network","status":"publish","type":"proyectos_ficha","link":"https:\/\/fundacion-biodiversidad.es\/en\/proyectos_ficha\/application-of-spatial-planning-tools-for-a-gradual-adaptation-of-the-natura-2000-network\/","title":{"rendered":"Application of spatial planning tools for a gradual adaptation of the Natura 2000 Network"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Climate change represents a major challenge to current conservation strategies, as it can compromise the persistence of biodiversity within existing protected areas, such as Natura 2000 sites.<\/p>\n<p>The development of the project &#8220;Strategies for the adaptation of the Natura 2000 Network to climate change&#8221;, led by the Forest Technology Centre of Catalonia, with the support of the Biodiversity Foundation, has made it possible to see how <strong>the distribution of birds listed in the Birds Directive within the RN2000 in Catalonia will vary towards 2050 as a result of the predicted climate change scenarios<\/strong>, which will mean a decrease in their presence in these protected areas, especially in species of open habitats.
