Social Dumps 2016 of the AMUS association maintains the conservation of scavenger birds
\n<\/p>\n

The Association for the Wild World (AMUS) launched the “Social Dunloads” project to maintain the recovery of populations of necrophagous birds of community interest<\/strong> with the support of the Biodiversity Foundation.<\/p>\n

The objective of this initiative was to recover populations of necrophagous birds of community interest through the increase of trophic availability for scavenger birds in Badajoz, putting into practice the new regional regulations and favoring the reinstatement of the traditional model in the conservation of endangered species<\/strong>. At the same time, awareness-raising actions were carried out on the conservation of scavenger birds. <\/p>\n

This project has made it possible to continue the activities initiated in the first phase with good results. The feeder has been consolidated and has been well received by numerous livestock farms, signing a custody agreement with one owner and receiving requests from others to establish a dunghill on their properties. In total , 21,286 kg of biomass has been contributed, used by the following species of carrion birds: 400 griffon vultures, 28 black vultures, 3 Egyptian vultures, 2 individuals of imperial eagle, 1 golden eagle and a large number of other species<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

In addition, a great effort has been made to publicize the results of the project to the rural population and the general public. Thus, within the framework of the project, 500 posters and 2,000 leaflets were published, distributed throughout a large part of the province of Badajoz and the rest of Extremadura, as well as in some parts of the national territory (fairs and events). Informative material was also distributed among a total of 100 farm owners and rural guards in the Southern Countryside of Extremadura, by the volunteers of the Montagu’s Harrier Rescue Campaign. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":11,"featured_media":22405,"template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false},"financiaci_n":[],"lineas_actuacion_tematicas":[654],"class_list":["post-97861078","proyectos_ficha","type-proyectos_ficha","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","lineas_actuacion_tematicas-terrestrial-ecosystems"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"\nSocial Dumps 2016 maintains the conservation of necrophagous birds -
