The Foundation has fostered positive synergies between biodiversity conservation policies and the fight against climate change, as well as for the integration of biodiversity into other sectoral policies.
\n<\/p>\n

At the Biodiversity Foundation, through call projects and our own projects, we work on the conservation of endangered species. Since our inception and to date, we have worked with nearly 200 species, of which at least 30 are exclusive to the marine environment and 21 are associated with freshwater or brackish water spaces. <\/p>\n

Thanks to these projects, knowledge has been increased, habitat has been improved, and the development and application of conservation strategies for such emblematic species as the Iberian lynx, the brown bear, the imperial eagle, the loggerhead turtle, the Iberian desman or the fartet have been promoted.<\/p>\n

In addition, we have contributed to the development of the bases for the national conservation and management strategies of 3 species: Iberian desman, ricot\u00ed lark and lesser shrike, the first to be approved being the Iberian desman.<\/p>\n

We have also supported 43 conservation, management and monitoring projects for 12 of the 14 species with a National Conservation and Management Strategy: Iberian imperial eagle, marbled teal, white-headed duck, Iberian desman, Iberian lynx, wolf, auriculated naiad, brown bear, Balearic shearwater, bearded vulture, capercaillie and European mink.<\/p>\n

The Foundation has fostered positive synergies between biodiversity conservation policies and the fight against climate change, as well as for the integration of biodiversity into other sectoral policies.<\/p>\n

All this represents an important boost and progress in the development and compliance with environmental guidelines and regulations for the conservation and protection of biodiversity in our country.<\/p>\n

Through these explanatory sheets, we are going to learn about the main characteristics of some of the most emblematic species of the Iberian Peninsula and for which the Biodiversity Foundation has worked in recent years:<\/p>\n
