The objective of this project has focused on the development of a methodology that structures the drafting of those coastal defense projects in the Natura 2000 Network marine competence of the State.
\n<\/p>\n

The objective of this project has focused on the development of a methodology<\/strong> that structures the drafting of those coastal defense projects <\/strong>in the Natura 2000 Network marine<\/strong> competence of the State. The initiative, carried out by the Institute of Coastal Ecology<\/a><\/strong>, focuses specifically on the Balearic Levantine region and has made it possible to know what, how, where and until when they should be subject to environmental monitoring. <\/p>\n

The project ‘Conservation of habitats and priority species of the RN2000 (Levantine-Balearic region) within the framework of coastal defence actions’ has the support of the Biodiversity Foundation, through its call for grants.<\/p>\n

Within the framework of the project, a cartographic review of marine habitats<\/a><\/strong> has been carried out in a total of 10 areas of the Natura 2000 Network, which may be affected by coastal defence works. Among them are; Borriana-Moncofa Algheros, Cape Hortes marine area, Ifac L’Almadrava marine area, Cabo Roig marine area, Oropesa and Benic\u00e0ssim marine area, Tabarca marine area, Marina Alta marine area, Levante Almeriense seabed and underwater valleys of the Escarpment de Mazarr\u00f3n. <\/p>\n

Likewise, the main types of actions that could allow the generation of a protocol for the generation of compatibility reports with the Marine Strategies have also been analysed.
