To improve the protection of the six threatened mammal species, the project ‘Conservation status of 6 species of mammals of community interest, for the six-year evaluations of MAPAMA, 2018’ has been carried out. All the information collected has been compiled to make state entities aware of the situation, so that they can improve their conservation plans.

The Galemia Association has completed the project ‘State of conservation of 6 species of mammals of community interest, for the six-year evaluations of MAPAMA, 2018’. This initiative has had the support of the Biodiversity Foundation of the Ministry for Ecological Transition within the framework of its 2017 call for grants. <\/p>\n
Its objective has been to provide MAPAMA (Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food), the Autonomous Communities and the Autonomous Cities with information on the global conservation status of 6 species of mammals of community interest. To this end, data on the distribution and conservation status of the six-year period 2013-2018 have been collected, relating to 6 threatened mammals: Iberian Desman Galemys pyrenaicus, Iber\u00f3n Iberomys cabrerae, Canarian shrew Crocidura canariensis, Maghrebi Dormouse Eliomys munbyanus, Ermine Mustela erminea <\/em>and Pyornal hare Lepus castroviejoi<\/em>.
