{"id":97861275,"date":"2018-10-02T11:22:41","date_gmt":"2018-10-02T09:22:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fundacion-biodiversidad.es\/proyectos_ficha\/actions-for-the-recovery-of-the-black-vulture-aegypius-monachus-and-the-bearded-vulture-gypaetus-barbatus-in-areas-of-historical-distribution\/"},"modified":"2018-10-02T11:22:41","modified_gmt":"2018-10-02T09:22:41","slug":"actions-for-the-recovery-of-the-black-vulture-aegypius-monachus-and-the-bearded-vulture-gypaetus-barbatus-in-areas-of-historical-distribution","status":"publish","type":"proyectos_ficha","link":"https:\/\/fundacion-biodiversidad.es\/en\/proyectos_ficha\/actions-for-the-recovery-of-the-black-vulture-aegypius-monachus-and-the-bearded-vulture-gypaetus-barbatus-in-areas-of-historical-distribution\/","title":{"rendered":"Actions for the recovery of the black vulture (Aegypius monachus) and the bearded vulture (Gypaetus barbatus) in areas of historical distribution"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Group for the Rehabilitation of Native Fauna and its Habitat (GREFA) was a beneficiary in the 2017 Call for Grants of the Biodiversity Foundation with the project <strong>&#8220;Actions for the recovery of the black vulture (<em>Aegypius monachus<\/em>) and the bearded vulture (<em>Gypaetus barbatus<\/em>) in areas of historical distribution&#8221; <\/strong>which aimed to contribute to the recovery of extinct populations of black vulture (<em>Aegypius monachus<\/em>) within its historical distribution in the north of the peninsula, increase its connectivity and reduce human impact on the populations of the species.<\/p>\n<p>The project has achieved unprecedented success with the <strong>consolidation of a black vulture colony in the Pyrenees more than 100 years after its extinction<\/strong>, and the settlement of 10 of the first 15 specimens released in the Sierra de la Demanda and the formation of the first pair of black vultures, just four months after their release.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks to the study carried out on the historical nesting sites of the bearded vulture, old nesting areas have been located in the enclave &#8220;Sabinares del Arlanza&#8221; and studies will continue in other areas of Burgos to assess the suitability of the different enclaves for a future reintroduction of the species in the province.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":11,"featured_media":22405,"template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false},"financiaci_n":[650],"lineas_actuacion_tematicas":[654],"class_list":["post-97861275","proyectos_ficha","type-proyectos_ficha","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","financiaci_n-fundacion-biodiversidad-en","lineas_actuacion_tematicas-terrestrial-ecosystems"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.9 -
