The Global Hub For The Common Good Foundation, with the support of the Biodiversity Foundation, is developing the project “New economies and social innovation as a tool for adaptation to climate change”.<\/p>\n
The project “New economies and social innovation as a tool for adaptation to climate change”<\/em> collects information on the set of so-called “new economies” (circular economy, collaborative economy, social and solidarity economy, economy for the common good, movement in transition, ethical finance, among others) to propose models that allow the transformation of 8 sectors crucial to climate change: energy, industry, mobility, urban planning, construction, tourism, finance and consumption.<\/p>\n The project’s findings can be found in the study “New economies and social innovation as a tool for adaptation to climate change in cities and other urban settlements”<\/em>, which addresses issues such as: how new economies are tools for climate change mitigation and adaptation in cities, what a new economy at the service of people and the planet would be like for the 8 prioritized sectors, what good practices are already being implemented in some small, medium and large municipalities, how these good practices can be replicated to more cities, have a positive impact on climate change mitigation and adaptation, what actions can be taken by cities to begin the transition to a new economic model and what barriers may be encountered.<\/p>\n
