The Sustainable Development Delegation of the Provincial Council of Badajoz was created in 2015 to assume the role of design, implementation and development of sustainability plans and programmes that contribute to the development of rural areas. Thus, the Delegation has competences in matters of urban environment, energy efficiency, agriculture and livestock. <\/p>\n
In the municipalities there is a great lack of instruments that facilitate the fight against climate change. Within the framework of the PNACC and the third work programme 2014 – 2020 and on the Climate Change Strategy of Extremadura, the project “Diagnosis and development of climate change adaptation actions in the rural area to be revitalised in La Serena and La Siberia: green spaces and energy” developed by the Provincial Council of Badajoz arises. through the Sustainable Development Delegation, with the support of the Biodiversity Foundation. <\/p>\n
Within the framework of the project , two local climate change adaptation plans have been launched in the municipalities of Siruela and Tamurejo, an example that has served to develop a methodological guide that will help the rest of the municipalities to develop their plan<\/strong>.
