{"id":97861503,"date":"2019-12-06T13:47:31","date_gmt":"2019-12-06T12:47:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fundacion-biodiversidad.es\/proyectos_ficha\/characterization-of-macro-and-microplastics-in-the-marine-food-web-of-the-mediterranean-sea\/"},"modified":"2019-12-06T13:47:31","modified_gmt":"2019-12-06T12:47:31","slug":"characterization-of-macro-and-microplastics-in-the-marine-food-web-of-the-mediterranean-sea","status":"publish","type":"proyectos_ficha","link":"https:\/\/fundacion-biodiversidad.es\/en\/proyectos_ficha\/characterization-of-macro-and-microplastics-in-the-marine-food-web-of-the-mediterranean-sea\/","title":{"rendered":"Characterization of macro and microplastics in the marine food web of the Mediterranean Sea"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><strong>The project has contributed to advancing the knowledge of the origin and content of macro and microplastics on beaches in protected areas of Andalusia, the Valencian Community and the Region of Murcia and in species of sea turtles, cetaceans, fish and crabs.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Research has found that, overall, transparent fiber microplastics are the most prevalent types ingested by marine megafauna worldwide.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>The analysis of the digestive tract content of 273 specimens of stranded species has determined that 100% of the sea turtles and 92% of the dolphins studied have a significant amount of macroplastics.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Sediment samples have been collected in four marine protected areas and one urban beach on the Spanish coast.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>According to the University of Almeria, the project highlights the widespread presence of macro and microplastics in marine ecosystems and their species, as well as the growing emerging risk of their presence in the food chain, including humans.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"author":11,"featured_media":22405,"template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false},"financiaci_n":[],"lineas_actuacion_tematicas":[655],"class_list":["post-97861503","proyectos_ficha","type-proyectos_ficha","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","lineas_actuacion_tematicas-marine-ecosystems"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.9 -
