Valorization of the natural and heritage resources of the Biosphere Reserves of Galicia and Asturias.

Empleaverde program

OBJECTIVE: The objective of the project is to promote the creation of green jobs through the training of workers in the valorization of the natural and heritage resources of the territory of the Galician Network of Biosphere Reserves under environmental sustainability criteria.

DESCRIPTION: This project seeks to deepen the conception of the Biosphere Reserves as exemplary spaces in terms of territorial development based on criteria of sustainability and compatibility between the conservation of natural and territorial values and the legitimate socioeconomic development of local populations. The project is based on this territorial development model as a source of green employment in the territories included in the Galician and Asturian Biosphere Reserves.

Different training actions are planned for the acquisition of professional skills in different areas related to the natural and heritage resources of these territories. The main tools to be acquired by the beneficiaries of the project are those aimed at enhancing the value of the endogenous resources of the territory through: environmental education, heritage interpretation, environmental documentation and the promotion of quality agri-food products from the Biosphere Reserves.
